On this three day course students will learn various methods and techniques establishing a strong base and structure in approaching the landscape.The landscape at Rossnaree offers the artist an excellent base for learning about composition in traditional landscape painting.

Students will learn the importance of 'keying', colour mixing, 'drawing' with paint, composition and movement. There will be a demonstration by the artist and a talk about how to begin and what to look for when selecting a scene to paint. Students will be tutored and given personal attention throughout the 3 days.

Over the three days students will have time to complete a study and produce one small painting.

Colours needed:

Titanium white

Cadmium yellow

Cadmium orange

Vermillion(or cadmium red light)

Cerulean blue

Ultramarine deep

Roman ochre/ Yellow ochre

There will be some more colours available if needed in small amounts.
